Henna has been used for thousands of years. Pure henna is one of the safest products you can apply to your hair, however sometimes skin or scalp irritations may occur after continuous use, occur infrequently, disappear, or reappear depending on an individual's skin sensitivities or which lawson-release agent used to break down the henna cellular structure.

Skin Test:

Often scalp irritations are a result of varying application or mixing methods. Serious adverse reactions are very rare. However, it is important to do a skin test to rule out an allergic reaction to henna. If after 1 hour, you develop a rash, have itching, a tight chest, or wheezing, you may have napthoquinone sensitivity and must avoid the use of henna.

IMPORTANT !

Children and Pregnant Mothers: Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) deficiency is a hereditary condition in which red blood cells break down when the body is exposed to certain drugs or the stress of infection. Please do not use henna if pregnant or use on children without seeking advice from a medical doctor. Henna could seriously endanger the life and health of children who have G6PD deficiency.
